There is no automatic refund entitlement; a refund is a decision we make case by case. What follows is what a refund does to the balance, and to a chargeback it applies the same way.
A refunded credit pack has its credits withdrawn, in proportion to the amount refunded. If they have already been spent, the balance goes negative — and while it is negative, every generation in that workspace is refused. A pack bought in that state pays the negative balance down before it grants usable credits.
Refunding a subscription charge returns money without withdrawing credits, because a period’s included credits expire with the period regardless.
